Hello and Welcome
I’m Alec Scott, a photographer based in Phoenix who creates cinematic storytelling through portraits, events, and the landscapes that shape us. My work is deeply inspired by the dramatic terrains of Arizona—from the red rocks of Sedona to the alpine colors of Flagstaff and the quiet power of the Superstitions.
Photography, for me, is the art of revealing connection. Whether I’m documenting the emotion of an event, crafting a portrait that feels timeless, or framing a couple against a sweeping mountain backdrop, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, atmospheric, and alive.
I specialize in landscape-integrated portraiture, blending people with the environment in a way that feels cinematic and intentional. I’m drawn to natural light, bold color, and the small moments of authenticity that make an image memorable. Clients often describe my work as moody, grounded, and emotionally rich.
In addition to portraits, I provide full event coverage, capturing everything from intimate gatherings and creative celebrations to weddings, corporate events, and outdoor retreats. My approach is based on storytelling, documenting the atmosphere, the energy, and the details that matter most.
My intention is simple: to help you reconnect with your moments, the people you love, and the landscapes that tell your story.
If you’d like to book a session, collaborate, or ask a question, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s create something meaningful together.
Why I Photograph
Photography became my way of understanding the world long before it became a profession. I’ve always felt deeply connected to landscapes, seasons, and the emotional power of a moment. Through the camera, I learned how light interacts with the land and how people fit into the stories nature is already telling.
I photograph because I believe images can preserve a feeling that words can’t always hold. They let us pause time. They anchor us in a memory. They let us see ourselves—and our relationships—from a perspective we don’t often get to witness.
I’m drawn to moments of honesty: quiet glances between people, the way sunlight wraps around a subject, or the stillness of a landscape right before the light changes. My goal is to give people imagery that feels authentic to them, rooted in place, mood, and meaning.
More than anything, I photograph because it gives me a way to honor beauty. Beauty in nature. Beauty in connection. Beauty in the fleeting, unrepeatable details that make a moment worth remembering.
